In the deep isolation of the Alentejo hills, surrounded by the waters of the Santa Clara dam, we find Casa da Eira de Baixo, resulting in an embrace between the River Mira and the River Torto. CEB´s location and unique features are ideal for artistic and personal development. With a constant focus on quality and environmental sustainability CEB serves as a meeting point between people, languages, and creativity within a constantly changing dynamic.

Its activities are divided between Artist Residencies, Retreats focused on health and wellbeing as well as several workshops involving Art and Creativity, Sustainability and Permaculture. CEB provides all facilitators and participants an opportunity to develop their work, immersed in an intimate silence, away from the urban bustle.

Casa da Eira de Baixo is surrounded by about 2 hectares of fertile and abundant land, distributed on the edge of the waters of Santa Clara. Being 11km away from the nearest paved road, CEB finds itself in privileged isolated conditions. Thus, according to its sustainable orientation, electricity is primarily of solar origin, forcing a specific ration, according to the imposed conditions. At the same time, to get there, one will need to meet with someone from CEB in a place where you can leave the car and follow the "maze" of dirt roads or by boat. The meeting place is the small village of Monte da Ribeira, in the output of IC1 to Rio Torto.

The isolation is not only geographically but also reflects the presence of low radiation derived from telecommunications networks. This is one of the most interesting features of CEB, which is so rare these days, therefore allowing some time for one to be “offline”.
